The Backstory
First, I would like to say Happy New Year and thank you to everyone that has been supporting me all this time and your patience. I am thrilled to say I have officially obtained my new studio space and have created my first painting for 2025, as well as my first painting in years, “Woman in Chair”
This painting, which is a mixed media of oil pastels and paper, was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s painting “La Mousmé”. Since this is my first time back in the studio in years, I wanted to study and get inspiration from work that inspired me to get back in the groove of things. I wanted to give oil pastels a try to see how I liked them. I find that oil pastels can be tricky to blend and can’t quite get those sharp details. Nonetheless, I did enjoy them.
This piece represents a huge milestone for me. After such a heavy setback and loosing my studio, I’m excited to see the new creations that come from my new studio. Thank you again for taking the time out of your day to read this message.
